The Radisson Blu Hotel, Doha participated in a blood donation campaign

Radisson Blu Hotel, Doha in partnership with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) organised a blood donation drive recently as one of its annual corporate Social Responsibility activities to give back to the community.

The Blood drive which was held at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Doha, aimed at supporting HMC’s effort to provide support and assistance to patients in need of blood, and to spread the culture of voluntary blood donation throughout the society. More than 30 employees from the hotel participated in the blood donation campaign and expressed their happiness and sense of pride to be part of this noble social cause which underlines the Hotel’s commitment to the society.

Gordon MacKenzie, General Manager of Radisson Blu Hotel, Doha said:

The hotels’ initiative is an expression of our commitment towards Corporate Social Responsibility. We feel that our partnership with Hamad Medical Cooperation will contribute to raising awareness about the importance of blood donation and its positive consequences in our society.’

The hotel management, thanks all the volunteers for donating blood and added that the hotel will continue to organise and participate in different Responsible Business activities that will benefit its employees and the society at large.


Radisson Blu Hotel, Doha announces Safehotels certification

We are pleased to announce that Radisson Blu Hotel, Doha has been awarded the internationally recognised Safehotels certification.

In December 2014, the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group signed an agreement with Safehotels – a globally recognised security consultancy. The agreement made Carlson Rezidor the first major international hotel group using the acclaimed independent certification programme to benefit guests, employees and owners. Radisson Blu Doha completed the Safehotels official certification process, and was today awarded Premium level certification.

It is a great honour to attain the first Safehotels Premium Certificate by Safehotels Alliance AB in Qatar.  Serving and taking care of guests is our core business. Safety and security is the base of that core, and having an independent certification confirms that our foundation complies with a solid, internationally recognised standard.’

During 2015, over 70 selected Rezidor hotels in Europe, Middle East and Africa will undergo the Safehotels certification process.
