The chip, carries details of the vehicle such as its registration number, name and location of fuel service station, date, time and other details as desired.
To avail of the new service, motorists may call to the customer service center on 40217777 for registration and take appointment for installing microchips. After taking appointment the motorist need to head to the designated Woqod fuel service station in New Al Rayyan, near Ansar Gallery. The applicants need to produce their valid Qatari ID and vehicle’s registration card (road permit) during registration.
The fee for the service is QAR220, inclusive of QAR195 for tag and QAR25 for installation.
The Peninsula reports:
The tag comes with a pre-paid top-up service, which is available at every Woqod fuel station. The top-up starts from QR20 and there is no maximum limit. The vehicle should be for private use and in the name of the applicant.
Motorists can use the pre-paid credit to refuel their vehicles and each transaction will be recorded by the microchip.
