College Fair

Since 2008, the College Fair is a truly esteemed tradition in the Gulf English School. The event is organised by the school’s selected Sixth Form students, who also learned and enhanced their skills in the process – in financial management, media and communication, design and working effectively as a team – skills that are imperative in the professional world.

Faheem Javaid, Executive Director of Gulf English School, said the aim of the College Fair is to introduce students to opportunities provided by various areas of employment and education. The College Fair is now held for 13 consecutive years, with 26 participating parties including a wide range of businesses and universities.

Currently, Year 9 students are required to submit the initial draft for the subjects they would like to take for IGCSE. Likewise, year 11 students will be choosing their subjects for Sixth Form. This event is key in ensuring that the right subjects are chosen for the right college.

The College Fair also grants a beneficial opportunity to students from other schools in Doha. As a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS), it is essential for Gulf English School to create a rigorous culture that engages the full community and encourages lifelong learning.
