ACI APAC & MID Airport Connectivity Report

Developed in partnership with PwC, the ACI APAC & MID Airport Connectivity Report measures the passengers’ ability to access the global air transport network, capturing both direct and indirect routes, and also factoring in the quality of service of each connection, such as destination choice, service frequency, onward connectivity and price contributing to the passenger experience. The report was announced at the launch of the ACI APAC & MID Middle East office in Riyadh.

Hamad International Airport Chief Operating Officer Engineer Badr Mohammed Al Meer said that the findings of the report further validates their investment towards expanding the airport’s capacity through their multi-phased airport expansion project, which will enable growth and further connectivity. He said that this ultimately boosts local and global tourism and the aviation industry as a whole.

The Middle East stands out for its growth rate for total connectivity and showcased the strongest recovery post-COVID-19, according to the report.

ACI Asia-Pacific and Middle East Director General Stefano Baronci congratulated HIA for its consistent efforts to enhance its air connectivity network. He said that the recognition is a testament to the airport’s unwavering dedication to delivering broader air connectivity, connecting people and places globally.
