HE Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada, the Minister of Energy and Industry, inaugurated the ‘RasGas Milestones Gallery’ in the presence of RasGas’ board of directors and the Executive Leadership Team.

HE Al Sada said:

RasGas’ remarkable success story is part of our wise leadership’ strategic vision to develop Qatar’s hydrocarbon resources and further optimise their utilisation. It gives us all a sense of real pride to see our major achievements documented in such a creative manner.  As a leading Qatari reliable LNG supplier setting the pace for the industry globally, RasGas is also committed to help achieve the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.’

The gallery, which is established at the company’s headquarters, celebrates RasGas’ milestone achievements through a series of exhibits from the laying of the foundation stone in 1997 at Ras Laffan to last year’s Helium 2 inauguration. RasGas CEO, Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi, said:

These successes are attributable to our highly-skilled, multicultural workforce who worked to achieve our vision of being a world class energy supplier. To celebrate our success over the years we are pleased to open our Milestones Gallery, sharing our corporate memories and sense of pride at our remarkable achievements.’

The exhibition includes exhibits reflecting RasGas’ operation of seven LNG trains, two Al Khaleej Gas trains and two helium plant facilities. Space within the exhibition has been reserved for the future Barzan Gas Project scheduled to come on stream next year.  At that time, RasGas is expected to become the largest single site gas processor in the world.

The exhibition also showcases an artistic interpretation of the history of the RasGas logo. The oil-on-canvas abstract painting by renowned Qatari artist, Ali Hassan Al Jaber, visually reflects the seven evolving RasGas logos, RasGas shareholders, customers and key milestone statistics.

RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) is a Qatari joint stock company established in 2001 by Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil RasGas Inc. RasGas acts as the operating company for and on behalf of the owners of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects RL, RL (II) and RL3 (Project Owners).  With operations facilities based in Ras Laffan Industrial City, Qatar, RasGas’ principal activities are to extract, process, liquefy, store and export LNG and its derivatives from Qatar’s North Field. RasGas, on behalf of the Project Owners, exports to countries across Asia, Europe and the Americas with a total LNG production capacity of approximately 37 million tonnes per annum. RasGas currently operates the Ras Laffan Helium Plant which was established in 2003 and came on stream in 2005. The plant extracts, purifies and liquefies helium from the North Field. The second helium plant entered production in June 2013 bringing the total liquid helium production capacity to 1.96 Bscf per year.

The Milestone Gallery will be a permanent exhibit in RasGas Headquarters.
