The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), and the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), jointly hosted a Ghabga dinner for members of the local media, at the Sharq Village and Spa. The event was led by Ali Al Khater, Chair of the Healthcare Communications Committee and Chief Communications Officer at HMC.

Al Khater thanked those who were in attendance, acknowledging the instrumental role that professionals engaged in the news industry play in helping protect and improve the health of the population. He said that members of the media support public health by ensuring that the local community receives and understands information that impacts their health and well-being.

Your support has meant that we can share our success with the community we serve, educating people on how to lead healthier lifestyles. Your support helps us to not just improve lives, but to save lives.’

He said that they were all pleased to have the opportunity to come together with members of Qatar’s media community to celebrate the blessed month of Ramadan. He added that hopefully, the organisations continue to work together, and maintain their already solid relationship.

The Healthcare Communications Committee, established under the directive of  Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari, includes representatives from communications, media, and public relations departments of the MoPH, HMC, and PHCC. The committee aims to promote healthcare communication that is effective, coordinated, and patient-centred.
