Heya – The Summer Edition, a mall-based version of the popular Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition, will kick off this Friday at Mall of Qatar’s luxury section on the ground floor. Running until the end of Qatar Summer Festival (QSF), it is set to host 28 local designers showcasing the latest Qatari fashion creations.
Heya – The Summer Edition is being delivered by Design Creationz, organiser of Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition, Qatar’s longest running biannual fashion event.
In the exhibition’s first rotation between 25 and 29 August, fashion enthusiasts and shoppers will find pop-up shops for popular Qatari fashion names such as Harlienz, Debaj and Al Dukan. Other participants include Moda de Malika, Asma Design, Moudi Boutique, Sarmad, New Concept, Zajel Design, Al Khoose, Sheen Design, Silva’s Dresses, Violin and Black Elegant.
The exhibition’s second rotation will follow between 30 August and 5 September at the same location, showcasing a different collection of contemporary modest fashion, including abayas, kaftans, jalabiyas, haute couture gowns and accessories. For every QAR 200 spent at any of the pop-up shops, shoppers can enter the QSF mega raffle draw being held on the final day of QSF (5 September) and have a chance to win one of 10 exciting cash prizes or a super luxury car.
Saif Al Kuwari, Director of PR & Communication at Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) said:
These pop-up shops are the result of two of Qatar’s leading tourism events, Qatar Summer Festival and Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition, coming together. As both events are entirely delivered by QTA’s private sector partners, we are very pleased to see more entrepreneurs and small businesses take the opportunities available to help shape the tourism sector and establish the authentic experiences that Qatar is increasingly becoming known for.’
Esraa Abel, spokesperson at Design Creationz said:
At Design Creationz, it is our core mission to support local fashion entrepreneurs. Giving designers the chance to be part of the Qatar Summer Festival in one of the most frequented malls in the country is a unique opportunity for them to gain great market insight and expand their market reach. The feedback received from designers is extremely positive. They are thankful for QTA and Design Creationz’ initiative.’
Held under the theme ‘Colour Your Summer’, QSF is a nationwide festival that celebrates the country’s family entertainment, retail and hospitality offerings. In its fourth edition, this year’s QSF stretches from Eid Al Fitr through to Eid Al Adha.
