The Corporate Communications Department of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) hosted a ‘Volunteers Recognition Day’ to acknowledge individuals who have dedicated their time and energy to support the various community engagement events hosted by the healthcare provider last year.
HMC Chief Communications Officer – Corporate Communications Department Ali Al Khater, said the key objective of the recognition was to strengthen the relationship between HMC and the different volunteer organisations in the country.
Over 250 volunteers from various non-profit organisations were recognised for their support of community activities that were held as part of a number of health promotion campaigns and events for World Kidney Day, World Obesity Day, World Diabetes Day, and Qatar National Day.
Al Khater, who also chairs the Healthcare Communications Committee of the Ministry of Public Health, thanked the volunteers for their service and described their contributions as invaluable. He said that their participation has been instrumental to the success of community engagement events and activities in 2018.
Mohamed Al Dosari, Assistant Executive Director of Public Relations presented the volunteers with certificates of appreciation and a small gift. He also acknowledged and thanked the volunteers.
On behalf of the Corporate Communications Department, and HMC as a whole, thank you for your service. Without you, many of our community engagement events would not have been possible. Today’s event is about recognising you and expressing how much we value your dedication, and the gift you provided by giving your time and energy to make so many of our events a success. To have volunteered your time demonstrates your passion for serving our community.’
Al Dosari said they have a full roster of events planned for 2019 and that he is confident that many of these activities will again benefit from the energy and generous contributions of the volunteers. He encouraged the volunteers to once again join them this year.
