To coincide with the start of the camping season, Hamad Medical Corporation will open its ambulance and emergency center in the Sealine area on Thursday 24 October 2013.
The ambulance and emergency center includes a specialised clinic to receive and manage medical emergencies and provide first aid treatment.
Earlier this year, HMC’s Ambulance Service expanded its fleet with four new 4x4s to deal with emergencies in desert and remote locations. The new 4x4s have been operational since the start of the winter camping season. The 4X4s are stationed at the Ambulance Service’s bases in Sealine and Al Udeid. This is in addition to the three new Lifeflight helicopters which were commissioned in September, bringing the fleet of air ambulances to five. This expansion of the ambulance service’s capacity comes after 100 additional ambulance vehicles were added to the fleet over the past 12 months.
