Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) announced the opening of the Sealine Medical Clinic in the Sealine area on Thursday, 29 December, in time to serve campers this season.

The medical clinic has been operating every camping season for 13 years, providing services to campers and visitors of the Sealine and Khor Al Udaid areas. It will restart its services this week to provide safe, compassionate and effective healthcare services to all patients in Qatar.

The clinic will operate from 3 pm on Thursdays until 5 pm on Saturdays throughout the camping season.

In addition to the clinic, the HMC Ambulance Service will also cover the Sealine area 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with two standard response vehicles as well as two 4×4 vehicles on standby to readily transport patients needing immediate healthcare services from the sand dune areas.

According to HMC’s Ambulance Service Executive Director for Events and Emergency Preparedness, Saleh Al Marri, they will increase the number of ambulances to six, and the 4×4 vehicles to five during weekends and official holidays.

He said that air ambulance helicopters, paramedics, critical care paramedics, rapid response paramedics, supervisors, liaison officers, and operations managers will also be dispatched to ensure optimum coverage in the Sealine area during the camping season.

Quad bike ban extended

Meanwhile, the ban on the use of quad bikes or ATV (all-terrain vehicles) outside the fenced parts at the Sealine Area has been extended. The ban was earlier enforced during the FIFA World Cup™ to enhance the safety of visitors and allow tourists to enjoy a unique experience of the local wild environment.

Opening times for shops renting out quad bikes are set from 10 am until 11 pm.
