The clinic is located on the main road adjacent to the busy beach, resort, mosque, shopping area, and other services and amenities; and this enables easy access to the clinic and has enabled the team to provide first aid services to the public in a fast and effective manner.

Al Khater expressed appreciation for their partners whose efforts have been vital to its success over the years. He extended special thanks to MME and to other providers who take care of services in the recreational area. He also thanked the members of the HMC Ambulance Service and other HMC teams who support their efforts at Sealine.

Clinic schedule and mobile health services

The clinic will operate from 3 pm on Thursdays until 5 pm on Saturdays throughout the camping season. It will remain open until the official end of the camping season.

Dr Hamid Ghareeb, the medical supervisor at the Sealine Medical Clinic, said the facility was equipped to handle injuries and medical emergencies.

The clinic features all the medical equipment and medications needed to manage injuries, but cases of urgent or serious nature are usually transported to the hospital by ambulance or the LifeFlight helicopter, depending on the severity of the injury or illness.

The clinic, which is staffed by a physician, nurse and medical supervisor, will receive all types of medical emergencies and injuries and is served by a helipad for easy LifeFlight access.

In line with the measures currently implemented by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) to curb the spread of COVID-19, the clinic is taking all the necessary precautionary measures, such as physical distancing and the provision of personal protective equipment, including face masks and hand sanitisers to protect the health of clinic visitors.

Assistant Executive Director for Events and Emergency Preparedness of the HMC Ambulance Service, Saleh M Al Marri, assured the public that high-quality healthcare services are available to campers in Sealine and surrounding areas.

He said that Ambulance Service coverage in the Sealine area operates 24/7 with two standard response vehicles as well as two 4×4 vehicles which are deployed for transporting patients from the sand dune areas to either the clinic, a standard ambulance vehicle or to the helipad.

As part of the ongoing collaboration between HMC and Qatar Tourism, the HMC Ambulance Service will increase the number of ambulances to six, and five 4×4 vehicles during weekends and official holidays. He added that the fleet is ready to respond to all emergency calls. The 4×4 ambulances have been modified to cope with the special terrain, to enable them to reach patients safely and with great flexibility.

Air ambulance helicopters, paramedics, critical care paramedics, rapid response paramedics, supervisors, liaison officers, and operations managers will also be dispatched by the Events and Emergency Preparedness Section of the Ambulance Service, according to its predetermined operations plans, to ensure optimum ambulance service coverage during the camping season.
