Appointed New General Manager
The Ritz-Carlton, Doha has announced the appointment of a new General Manager, Erden Kendigelen. Being named as one of the best and brightest hospitality professionals by Vegas Business INC in 2013, Erden brings a passion for excellence and a wealth of experience in the luxury hospitality industry to the leading luxury hotel in the heart of Doha.
Erden will be responsible for all aspects of the property operation and development, including guests and employee engagement and financial performance. Having worked in the luxury hospitality field for over 18 years, Erden has a great understanding of the sophisticated needs of the luxury customer, and will contribute towards driving The Ritz-Carlton, Doha to even greater heights.
Prior to this assignment, Erden held a position of Hotel Manager at The Ritz-Carlton, New York where he was overseeing all aspects of the property operation and successfully positioned the hotel as the major business and leisure destination in New York.
InterContinental Doha The City
New General Manager welcomed
The hotel has named Pascal Eggerstedt as the General Manager of its 525-room luxury hotel and residences, located in Al Dafna. Eggerstedt has been a part of InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) since 1997 and brings to InterContinental Doha The City more than 22 years of experience in the hotel industry.
Open since 2012, InterContinental Doha The City is located in the heart of the city offering luxury accommodations with 349 guest rooms and suites as well as 176 resident apartments.
In addition to the dining and entertainment establishments, the hotel offers an exquisitely designed Events Centre with unrivalled facilities in a contemporary setting and a well-established reputation of delivering the highest standards of excellence. The spectacular main ballroom has a capacity of up to 700 guests with a soaring ceiling 8 metres high and more than 200 square metres of pre-function space. An additional five meeting rooms can be divided into 10 break-out rooms.
New Executive Chef appointed
InterContinental Doha The City is please to announce the appointment of Emmanuel Pauliat as the hotel’s new Executive Chef. With a culinary background spanning more than 20 years and eight countries, Pauliat’s experience includes luxury five-star hotels around the world along with a Michelin-star restaurant in France.
In his new role at InterContinental Doha The City, Pauliat will oversee culinary operations of the hotel’s seven diverse food and beverage outlets including the award-winning Prime steakhouse, Hwang Pan Asian restaurant, The Square all-day dining and Strata Restaurant and Lounge, which is the highest restaurant and lounge in Doha. In addition, he will lead the kitchen teams for banquet and catering operations within the 525-room luxury hotel and residences located in West Bay.
As a French native, Pauliat’s career began in Les Eyzies France in 1991 at Auberge de la Terriere. Throughout the 90s Pauliat continued honing his culinary skills in various luxury hotels and restaurants in France including Relais & Châteaux and Michelin-star Auberge St-Laurent. Since 2003, Pauliat has been with InterContinental Hotel Groups (IHG) as Executive Chef at five-star hotels across the Middle East.
Four Seasons Doha Hotel
Chef de Cuisine at Il Teatro appointed
Four Seasons Hotel Doha is pleased to announce the appointment of Chef Marco Arlotti as Chef de Cuisine at the hotel’s renowned Italian restaurant Il Teatro. In his new role, Arlotti will oversee all culinary operations for the 124-seat signature restaurant.
Chef Marco brings over 14 years of international luxury hospitality experience to Doha. Arlotti joins Four Seasons Hotel Doha most recently from Four Seasons Hotel Milan, where he served as Sous Chef, overseeing two of the hotel’s signature restaurants – La Veranda and Il Teatro, as well as culinary operations for banquets and room service. During his six-year tenure at Four Seasons Hotel Milan, he was mentored by Italy’s acclaimed Chef Sergio Mei and had the opportunity to further advance his culinary skills and technique under Chef Mei’s direction. Together with Chef Mei, Chef Marco had the opportunity to teach Italian cuisine at the prestigious culinary school Le Notre in Paris. Prior to Milan, Chef Marco perfected his culinary skills working in acclaimed restaurants throughout Europe, such as Michelin Star Joël Robuchon in Paris as Chef de Partie.

In partnership with acclaimed Chef Nobuyuki ‘Nobu’ Matsuhisa, the Four Seasons Doha Hotel announced the debut of the Japanese restaurant Nobu Doha. Designed by internationally acclaimed architect David Rockwell and his firm Rockwell Group, the restaurant features an expansive 192-seat interior dining area, an intimate 10-seat sushi counter, two exclusive private dining rooms, and a one-of-a-kind 82-seat rooftop lounge that encompasses both indoor and outdoor seating options. Nobu Doha will showcase renowned Chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s signature new style Japanese cuisine, as well as new creations infusing local ingredients representative of the region. The captivating atmosphere will offer guests a stylish and comfortable retreat-like setting blended with innovative cuisine, making for Doha’s premiere epicurean haven.

Four Seasons Hotel Doha’s highly anticipated new restaurant, Nobu Doha, is scheduled to open by the end of 2014.
Chef de Cuisine at Nobu Doha appointed
In the role of Chef de Cuisine, Andrew Bozoki will oversee all culinary operations for the signature restaurant which features Chef Nobuyuki ‘Nobu’ Matsuhisa’s signature new style Japanese cuisine blended with exotic global flavors. Chef Bozoki brings over 15 years of international five-star hotel operations and restaurant experience to Four Seasons Hotel Doha. Bozoki joins Four Seasons Hotel Doha most recently from the One & Only Reethi Rah Resort in the Maldives, where he served as chef de cuisine at the resort’s popular Japanese restaurant Tapasake. Prior to the Maldives, he served as sous chef at acclaimed Nobu Dubai, where he achieved success for his flawless technique, creativity and commitment to creating extraordinary guest experiences. Originally from Germany, Chef Bozoki began his culinary career in the country’s southwestern region of Baden-Württemberg.
General Manager at Nobu Doha appointed
In his new role, Layne Nguyen will be responsible for overseeing operations at the 26,000 square-foot restaurant, which includes a 192-seat interior dining area, two private dining rooms, multiple lounges, and catering operations. Additionally, Nguyen will be at the helm of recruitment, training and development to continue Nobu and Four Seasons’ leading service cultures. Layne, who has had an extensive career with Nobu Restaurants, makes the move to Doha from Nobu San Diego in California, US where he most recently served as assistant general manager. While in California, he earned the coveted certification and title as the traditional Japenese beverage sommelier and created exquisite food pairing menus – such as ideal serving temperatures for each beverage, elevating the already exquisite dining experience for guests. Layne originally began working with Nobu Restaurants at Nobu Dallas in Texas, US in 2006, in various management roles. He is fluent in English and Vietnamese.

Pastry Chef Welipitiyage Dharshana Saman Kumara was honoured for his recent achievements at various culinary art competitions. Saman’s bread showpiece at QAFCO Flower & Vegetable Show 2014 Doha Qatar won the second prize and special recognition from visitors.
New Restaurant Manager appointed
The Greek Mediterranean restaurant, Mykonos, announced the appointment of Marios Triantafyllou as the new Restaurant Manager. In this role, Marios will oversee Mykonos’ day-to-day operations. A Greek national, Triantafyllou has an MBA in luxury brand management, gastronomy and oenology.
New PR & Marketing Manager appointed
Marta Burdiel Gutierrez joins InterContinental Doha as the new PR & Marketing Manager. With more than seven years in the hospitality industry, Marta most recently served as Events Manager of the World Gourmet Summit in Singapore where she was in charge of the coordination of major events, promotional activities, and special projects.

Leanne Mills has joined The St. Regis Doha very recently as the marketing leader. Leanne spent the last six years as a marketing and communications consultant in Australia and Saudi Arabia and, until recently, she has specialised in financial services. Working in Europe, the UK and Asia, Mills held senior positions with large global investment and private banks where she managed marketing strategy, collateral production, campaigns and brand development. Leanne is learning French and speaks a little Spanish. In her leisure time, she enjoys training for and competing in triathlons.
