The International Chamber of Commerce Qatar (ICC Qatar) will be holding a special energy seminar on the Oil and Gas Market for 2023. This event will take place this Monday, 6 March at the premises of Qatar Chamber, from 8:30 am to 11:30 am.

The seminar titled Oil and Gas Market Outlook 2023: Sailing in Volatile Environment is organised by ICC Qatar in collaboration with Refinitiv, an LSEG Business.

Challenges and opportunities

As the earth is about 1.1°c warmer than it was in late 1800. Companies have committed themselves to more ambitious climate targets aligned with limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°c above pre-industrial levels.

To limit global warming, as called for in the Paris Agreement, GHG emissions need to peak by 2025 and fall by 43% before 2030, following the latest report by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). At the same time, carbon dioxide emissions need to reach net zero globally by early 2050.

Qatar pays great importance to the production of energy and renewable energy and has in fact, taken serious steps towards gradually moving to sustainable, clean energy in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 and its commitment to the Paris Agreement that pledges zero carbon emission by 2050.

ICC Qatar, alongside Refinitiv, is coming together to deliver the seminar at a time when Qatar is actively working to take a significant role in facing the challenges and creating opportunities and developments in the ever-changing landscape of the global oil and gas markets.
