InterContinental Doha The City Receives Accessible Qatar Award

InterContinental® Doha The City received an award from Accessible Qatar as recognition for being one of the most accessible five-star hotels in Qatar for the mobility impairment.

James Young, General Manager of InterContinental Doha The City, received the award on behalf of the hotel.

The Accessible Qatar Conference concluded its two-day conference with an awards ceremony recognising the most accessible venues in Qatar. Supported by the Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), the ceremony was attended by key government figures, developers, and the representatives from winning venues.

The Accessible Qatar Conference aimed to raise awareness about accessibility, encourage knowledge sharing, and influence project developers to make existing and future venues accessible to the disabled.

Accessible Qatar is an initiative of Sasol, a leading international integrated chemicals and energy company, has launched its Definitely Able Programme in 2012 and has audited close to 100 venues in Qatar with the help of an international accessibility expert. The information is available through Accessible Qatar free mobile application, a first in the region provides disabled community instant and reliable information about the accessibility of public and touristic locations in Qatar.
