InterContinental Doha The City to Offer 30% Off on Room Rates

InterContinental Doha The City is to celebrate its third anniversary on 19 February 2015 by offering 30 percent off the best available room rate for Thursday 19 and Friday 20 February 2015 including breakfast.

Since opening the doors on 19 February 2012, InterContinental Doha The City has celebrated numerous achievements. Among them in 2014, the hotel earned three TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Awards for the property itself, Hive Lounge and for Prime steakhouse. In 2013 Prime steakhouse also was named ‘Best Steakhouse in Doha’ in Time Out magazine.

The hotel also has been well-represented at The Hotelier Middle East Awards with colleagues taking home Young Hotelier and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Champion of the Year in 2013 and most recently in 2014, Laundry Attendant Hezron Jeremiah Onyango, was awarded runner-up in the Unsung Hero category for donating his entire one month’s salary to help the families of his fellow workers from the Philippines victimized by typhoon Haiyan. In addition to the award, Hezron received a personal visit and a certificate of recognition from Philippine Ambassador to Qatar Crescente R. Relacion as well as world-wide media coverage about his incredible act of kindness.

Within the Events Centre, InterContinental Doha The City has been host to numerous high-profile events including gala dinners for prestigious companies and governmental institutions, national days for Romania and Canada and the Arab Woman Awards. The hotel also recently hosted various teams for the Qatar 2015 World Handball Championships, including the world-champion France National Handball team. In addition, Al Jawhara Ballroom has been transformed into an authentic Oktoberfest hall for the past two years for the hotel’s highly successful Bavarian celebration.

The food and beverage offerings at InterContinental Doha The City have continued to evolve including the opening of Hwang pan-Asian restaurant in April 2014 offering cuisine from eight different Asian countries and now open for lunch serving special bento box selections.

As part of the hotel’s ongoing commitment to support local artists, InterContinental Doha The City has been home to two different art exhibitions – ‘Alif’ exhibition by Sabah Arbilli consisting of paintings, sculptures and installations throughout the lobby and ‘Made in Asia’ exhibition by Jacinthe Lamontagne-Lecomte created especially for Hwang pan-Asian restaurant.

In addition, internally the hotel colleagues have joined together on various initiatives to support the community such as holding annual blood donations and delivering Iftar meals to those in need. The hotel and its colleagues also continue their full commitment to supporting local and international corporate social responsibility programmes.
