The 17th IHG Qatar Open, represented by InterContinental Doha, Crowne Plaza Doha The Business Park, Holiday Inn Doha the Business Park, Crowne Plaza Doha West Bay and Staybridge Suites Doha Lusail in association with Al Nakheel Landscapes will be held on 9 and 10 November 2018 at Doha Golf Club. The tournament will start in the early morning of 9 November.

The tournament attracts 200 top class amateur field golfers (100 couples) from the region competing in a two-day golfing agenda played in Greensomes format over the Championship Course at the exclusive Doha Golf Club.

The annual event, a highlight on Doha Golf Club’s schedule, also allowed the golfers to have the opportunity to play on a world-class, Peter Harradine designed Championship Golf Course.

Andreas Pfister, Director of Operations Northern Gulf and General Manager at InterContinental Doha, said:

As part of our responsible business, we organise a charity auction on the awarding night where the collected funds will be donated to two important organisations: the first one ‘IHG Giving for Good’ to support victims of natural disasters worldwide and the second organisation is Qatar Cancer Society – one of the leading humanitarian organisations in Qatar which pledges to work towards increasing public awareness about cancer and cancer prevention.’

Andreas added:

IHG is committed to the development of sports in Qatar, we have demonstrated this over the years by organising and sponsoring many sporting events and competitions in our host community Doha.’

Prizes that will be awarded include the Top 4 couples and special prizes such as ‘the best pose couple’, the longest drive and nearest to the pin at the awarding ceremony, which is followed by a lavish dinner, both held at Doha Golf Club on the evening of 10 November 2018.
