To mark the International School of London’s fifth year of support for Qatar Charity’s ‘Sponsor a Child’ initiatives for orphans and children in need, the school welcomed Yaser Shareef Al Saleh to the school. Christopher Charleson, Head of School, presented Al Saleh with a cheque for QAR17,500 which will cover the annual sponsorship of seven orphans. Students from all grade levels were involved in fund-raising projects since last September which included the sales of a school calendar, flea markets, bake sales and a wide selection of games and activities at school family days.

Community service and charitable activities are an important element of education as students are given the opportunity to reflect on their ethical and global impact. The International Baccalaureate (IB) programme is a model for educating global citizens and fosters international awareness.

The International School of London Qatar was founded in 2008 and serves the needs of Doha’s international community. ISL Qatar has set new standards of academic excellence and is a leading IB ‘World’ School, authorised to offer the IB Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Programmes and is accredited by the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
