Qatar Insurance Company (QIC) is the silver sponsor of the 24th International Traffic Medicine Association (ITMA) Congress to be held in Doha during 16–18 November 2015. The sponsorship agreement was signed at QIC headquarters by Brigadier Muhammad Abdullah Al Maliki, Secretary of the National Traffic Safety Committee and the Chairman of the ITMA Congress Organizing Committee and Salem Al Mannai Deputy Group CEO of Qatar Insurance Group MENA Region, in the presence of Capt. Mubarak Salim Al Bouainain, Assistant Director of Public Relations Department at Ministry of Interior.
Brigadier Muhammad Abdullah Al Maliki expressed appreciation to the QIC Group for their sponsorship and support and lauded their cooperation with the activities of the Ministry of Interior and their social commitment in regards of safety and security of the community.
He said that the ITMA congress is held first time in the Middle East under National Traffic Safety Committee which will bring together thoughts on traffic safety and traffic medicine. Experts from around 40 countries will participate to present the latest studies and researches related to traffic medicine and traffic safety as well as scientific solutions to reduce the accidents rate. Prior to the opening of the Congress, a workshop will be held on 15 November to hold discussion on traffic incidents involved by youth in Gulf region and the world as a whole whereas it accords with the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims which is held on the third Sunday of November.
From his part, Salem Al Mannai said that the company’s cooperation with the National Traffic Safety Committee has empowered us to underscore our commitment to support the National Traffic Safety Strategy (2013–2022) in order to ensure safety on roads of Qatar. By supporting ITMA Congress we hold a key role in bringing a group of expert to Qatar to share their knowledge and experience about problems in traffic safety and their solutions, he added.
