Chevrolet’s exclusive dealers in Qatar, Jaidah Automotive, showcased its latest vehicles at the Qatar Motor Show 2015, which is taking place at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) from 6 to 10 February 2015.
The feature of the night were the launches of the Corvette C7 convertible, the Silverado Reaper and the Tahoe Z71.
Attending the motor show on behalf of Jaidah Automotive were Mohamed Jaidah, Group Executive Director, and Khalid Samir, Director of Operations Jaidah Automotive. Also present at the event were Maurice Williams, President and Managing Director of GM Middle East Operations, Jeroen Barwegen, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Chevrolet and GMC, Ahmed Soudodi, Regional Brand Manager for Chevrolet, Bader El Houssami, Chevrolet Regional Sales Manager and Mohamed Daaboul, Sales Business Manager. Williams said:
We are pleased that Chevrolet in partnership with Jaidah Automotive has again entered the fast changing Qatari market with high performance cars and looks forward to serving customers with these new models and technologies.’
The formidable Silverado Reaper and the off-road ready 2015 Tahoe Z71 were the first to be revealed. The Reaper is available with 5.3L 475hp and 6.2L 550hp Magnuson Supercharged engines. The pickup is equipped with custom ‘Reaper’ grille and hood, featuring Lingenfelter custom exhaust tips. The Tahoe Z71 is roomier than ever before, with 2 inches greater legroom for second row passengers, making it the perfect family car. Equipped with a 5.3L V8 engine the new model includes special features including keyless entry and push button start, advanced crash avoidance and driver assistance technologies. The Tahoe Z71 is now available in Jaidah Automotive showrooms.
The showstopper of the evening, the 2015 Corvette convertible C7, has a 6.2L V8 engine delivering 460hp. It is a sports car that continues the 2014 concept of the Stingray, but the 2015 model will now include the NPP Performance exhaust, which was previously an add-on. The convertible delivers the same optimal performance as the coupe, and also enables drivers to optimize the car for their driving preference and road conditions via five settings: Weather, Eco, Tour, Sport and Track. Commenting on the car, Jaidah said:

The Corvette C7, which was launched in 2014, has been recognised with numerous awards since its initiation. The Corvette Stingray not only earned the desired title of 2014 North American car of the year but was also Automobile magazine’s, 2014 Automobile of the year. The name Stingray, which was brought back for the first time since 1976, now sees its continuation in 2015.
In related Corvette news, the Corvette Z06 supercar, which has been named Top Gear Magazine’s 2014 muscle car of the year and has been the center of attention of many car fanatics, and will be available in Qatar in April 2015. The Z06 is host to a 6.2L Supercharged LT1 V8 engine, with 650hp, capable of going from 0 to 97kmh in 3.2 seconds. The car is engineered to be lightweight and firm, featuring carbon-fiber hood and removable carbon-fiber roof panel. The Z06, will be available in Qatar in April 2015.
Jaidah Automotive also displayed the Chevrolet’s 2015 Impala, Cruze, Trax, Camaro, Traverse and Tahoe, giving Motor Show visitors a wide range of Chevrolet cars that meet their needs.
