Ramadan Recipe

Hello everyone,

In keeping with my wish to share recipes during the celebration of the Holy Month of Ramadan, my focus this week is for something special to enjoy with friends and family during the evening celebrations of Suhour. The recipe Smoked Salmon Delights are the perfect raw and healthy eats everyone will enjoy.

Serves: 6 | Preparation time: 30 minutes | No need to cook – just chill


  • 200g smoked salmon
  • 2 Gem lettuce – washed, trimmed and separated into individual leaves
  • Plenty of fresh lemon juice


  • Large handful baby tomatoes – finely chopped
  • 2 sticks of celery – cut small, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp French style vinaigrette – commercial will do
  • Generous amount of freshly ground black pepper


  • Extra fresh lemon – thinly sliced


1. Prepare lettuce and other ingredients

Wash, trim and spin dry the baby Gem lettuce.

Separate the salmon for usage.

Juice and slice lemons.

2. Make relish

Finely chop baby tomatoes and celery.

Place in a bowl and moisten with 2 tbsp of vinaigrette.

Check seasoning and reserve for later.

Mix well.

3. Assemble

Lay lettuce leaves on an attractive serving board or plate.

Lay smoked salmon on each leaf, top with relish.

Splash lemon juice all over.

4. Serve!

Take to the table with an additional garnish of thinly sliced lemons.


These moorish delights can be made ahead of time, covered with cling film and kept in the refrigerator until required.
