Kalyan Jewellers, one of the leading jewellery groups in India, is investing QAR200 million in Qatar as part of its market entry strategy. The company is opening seven showrooms in Doha on 25 March 2016 strategically located at Al Khor, Abu Hamour, Barwa Village, Garaffa, Al Rayyan, Asian Town, and HBK Signal.
Global brand ambassador of Kalyan Jewellers and international film icon Amitabh Bachchan will make his maiden visit to Qatar as part of the launch. He will be accompanied by brand ambassadors and popular South Indian film stars, Nagarjuna, Prabhu Ganesan, and Manju Warrier. Kalyan is the first brand ever in Qatar to have seven showrooms on a single day, as part of its launch.
With this launch Kalyan invests over QAR600 million in the GCC network of 21 showrooms and manufacturing facility in Sharjah. Kalyan has been rapidly expanding its distribution operations, both in India and West Asia and had made an emphatic entry into the GCC by launching six showrooms on a single day in the UAE.
Speaking at a press conference, T.S. Kalyanaraman, Chairman & Managing Director, Kalyan Jewellers said:
We believe that such an emphatic presence will help us gain significant volume share and accelerate our growth plans and increase the GCC contribution to the group turnover to 40% over the medium term from the existing 15% of our revenues. Kalyan’s relentless focus on quality, transparency and innovation will make shopping a delightful experience for the discerning customers. The foray into Qatar takes Kalyan Jewellers into the 90s with its network of showrooms and we will soon be hitting a century of showrooms.’
The showrooms will have dedicated sections featuring Kalyan’s most popular house brands such as Ameera- exclusive Arabic wedding jewellery, Mudhra – handcrafted antique jewellery, Nimah – authentic heritage Jewellery, Anokhi – uncut diamonds, Apoorva – diamonds for special occasions, Antara – wedding diamonds and Hera – daily wear diamonds and Rang – precious stones jewellery. Bespoke collections such as Turkish, Antique and Omega will also be available in the showrooms.
With manufacturing units in India and the UAE, Kalyan Jewellers is all set to bring the latest trendy designs to the Qatar market and also provide an extensive range of designs across multiple price points in keeping with the needs of the customer. Currently the brand has over 200,000 designs on offer and a customer base of over 2.8 million.
