On Monday, The Katara Cultural Village Foundation opened the photo gallery ‘Below Zero’ in Building 18. The gallery follows the journey of professional Qatari photographer Ali Saifaldine through the Arctic Region.
Organised by the Youth Hobby Centre, the opening of the gallery was attended by Saif Al Dosary, HR Manager at Katara, along with photographers, media representatives and art enthusiasts.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Head of the Photography section at YHC Abdelaziz Al Kubaisi said that each photograph in the gallery had a story behind it. He also stated that Saifaldine was the first Qatari photographer to reach the Arctic region and have a trip full of adventures to snap these valuable photos.
The gallery featured 45 photographs all taken by Saifaldine at the North Pole, where he spent around ten days expediting and searching for the best shots to create his unique collection.
Saifaldine’s trip started from Doha, crossing Norway to Svalbard Island, where he then sailed in a ship to the North Pole.
