The Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club (QREC) and Katara Hospitality recently concluded an agreement for the management and operation of the QREC Clubhouse.

The QREC Clubhouse will be a significant hospitality destination in Qatar in terms of the services it provides.

The structural works are scheduled to be completed early next year. Procedures related to the operation will commence according to a schedule set by one of Katara Hospitality’s operating units. The operation of the Clubhouse has been delayed previously due to technical reasons.

Optimum Investment

Following the agreement, QREC Chairman Issa bin Mohammed Al Mohannadi said the agreement will contribute to the realisation of one of their key objectives – providing alternative financial resources.

This will enhance QREC’s efforts to develop Qatar’s equestrian sport and lessen the burdens of the government towards QREC, which is an ultimate goal for us. The agreement further fosters QREC’s efforts to be a global equestrian leader, not only in terms of horseracing, but also through the optimum investment and maximised offerings of the facility.

The public will certainly have their share of these benefits as Clubhouse goers will have first-hand experience of the equestrian sport in Qatar, particularly as the QREC Clubhouse is the sole race course in the country.’

According to Katara Hospitality CEO Hamad Abdulla Al Mulla, the QREC Clubhouse will be managed through one of their operating units, and that they will highlight and enhance the facility offerings. He said that the project is set to be a major and unique destination in Qatar.
