The Cultural Village Foundation-Katara inaugurated an innovative painting exhibition –‘Salam’, in the presence of HE Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Manager and a number of diplomats and renowned artists, recently. The exhibition is in line with Katara’s strategy, promoting cultural innovation and connecting people through the channels of peace.

The display of paintings by Qatari artist Jamila Al Ansari, which revolve around the theme of peace, are unique as they use mixed media to highlight the atrocities occurring in the region.

Inaugurating the exhibition that consists of 25 paintings, HE Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti said:

The fine paintings created by Qatari artist Jameela Al Ansari employ a highly technical style to convey the necessity of peace in the region. The display comes at a time when Katara has been deeply involved in supporting the humanitarian campaign for Aleppo.’

Jameela Al Ansari, who is an Arts graduate from Qatar University and a renowned artist has exhibited her works on numerous occasions, on a broad range of themes, added:

The paintings are expressions of the relentless call for peace, dignity and freedom from the ruthless injustice and persecution currently prevalent in the region.’

The exhibition runs until 12 January at Building 18, Katara.
