The Cultural Village Foundation-Katara represented Qatar at the 9th Arab Tourism Media Summit for the year 2017 held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

During the ceremony Katara was crowned with an Oscar award in Arab Tourism Media, which was addressed to the General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation-Katara, HE Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, who, the leader of the most prominent and unique cultural institute to be established within the Arab region, was also granted the title of the ‘First Government leader’ that supports Arab tourism.

The General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation-Katara HE Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, said the award is a tribute to the ongoing efforts towards excellence, that is at the core of all the projects done by the team that works at Katara. He added that since its establishment, each of Katara’s successes can be attributed collectively to the administrative, management and intellectual efforts to implement the country’s strategy, that is in alignment with the institutional frameworks that come under Qatar’s National Vision 2030.

Our pride in the cultural successes that the State of Qatar has achieved so far, reflects our pride in its heritage, identity and prosperity as well, none of which would have been possible without the comprehensive vision of the Emir of the State of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, who has spared no effort to support our heritage while reaching out and welcoming cultures and practices from other countries.’

The President of the Arab Centre for Tourism Media, Hussein Al-Mannai, said that Qatar’s victory which is represented by the success of the Cultural Village Foundation- Katara, is a source of delight for everyone, given the fact that, Katara has become a renowned cultural and tourist destination within the Gulf region, synonymous with excellence in the promotion of all fine arts and inter-cultural performances.
