The Cultural Village Foundation – Katara and Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation – KAHRAMAA represented by its National Program for Conservation and Energy Efficiency ‘Tarsheed’ signed a Memorandum of Understanding this week to promote conservation and energency efficiency.

The agreement was aimed at establishing better cooperation between KAHRAMAA and Katara to promote awareness, exchange experiences, launch joint activities, events and competitions that contribute to spreading the culture of conservation of vital resources and promote responsible practices for optimal use of water and electricity.

HE Dr Khaled bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Manager of Katara, expressed his hope that the cooperation with KAHRAMAA will open up prospects for fruitful ventures that will raise awareness and educate the Qatari community towards ‘responsible’ practices, that will sustain a healthy environment for current and future generations.

According to HE Engineer Essa bin Hilal Al Kuwari, President of KAHRAMAA, the memorandum affirms their keenness to achieve productive cooperation to promote sustainability.

Tarsheed is soon celebrating its 8th-year anniversary. So far, it managed to reduce 12 million tonnes of harmful carbon emissions.
