This is not just a simple garden lunch, mind you. We were back at Chef’s Garden, the organic restaurant in Education City, near the Al Shaqab facilities. The restaurant is an ideal dining destination this season – outdoor seats, fresh air, lots of greens, and a menu that provides only healthy options.

First things first, book your reservation. You can check out their website, chefsgardendoha.com, and make your reservation from there. Just fill out the required information and submit. You will receive a call to confirm your booking.

We came in time for lunch, opting to go for something light and fresh in keeping with the garden theme. The dishes are priced reasonably (on average around QAR100 to QAR150 per pax) with servings big enough for two people.

Straightforward menu

Chef's Garden MenuIdeally, you’d want to start with soup, salad and bread before going for the mains. The soup and salad selection is varied enough and if you’re trying the restaurant for the first time, don’t skip on anything. They have special packages, in case you want a proper three-course business lunch.

Did you know that they grow their own herbs? Chef’s Garden is an actual garden growing kitchen staples like eggplants, peppers, and even cauliflower and broccoli! If the soup tastes fresh, it probably is!

Our three-person group opted for soups and bread and moved directly to our choice for the main course – Grilled Chicken Pappardelle Alfredo, Seafood Paella Risotto, and Grilled Beef Tenderloin.

Their menu does not really lean on a particular cuisine, although you are less likely to find Asian specialities among their offered dishes. Their offerings are incorporated with a lot of freshness and greens, and are very straightforward ‘healthy’. When in doubt about your choices, you can always ask any of their staff. Their servers are polite and attentive, and always there in case you need anything.

Aside from the food, we pretty much enjoyed the view of the greeneries outside – cold weather and warm sunlight did make an ideal combination when you’re finishing a good meal with coffee. Dessert? Maybe next time we’ll have time for their healthy sweets.

Chef’s Garden is located in Education City, accessible via Al Shaqab Gate 6. The restaurant is open Monday to Saturday, from 7 am until 3 pm. Call 3027 7059 or visit chefsgardendoha.com to learn more about their offers.

Brunch plans? Chef’s Garden serves a Farmer’s Brunch every Friday, from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm. QAR170 for adults, QAR75 for kids six to 12 years old and kids below six – free! Bring your family and friends and enjoy great outdoor dining!
