Popular restaurant L’zwaar Seafood Market on the beachfront at Katara recently swept the board at the Salon Culinaire event at the 7th Hotel, Restaurant and Food Exhibition in Qatar (Difaya 2012), winning an unprecedented 29 medals, including Best Group.

Under the leadership of Chef Sonali Fonseka, L’zwaar’s cuisine is inspired by four main styles: Meditarranean, Middle Eastern, Far Eastern and Japanese, all of which impressed the judges. The restaurant gets local fish and shellfish directly from the boat on a daily basis, and also imports the best foreign varieties, such as salmon, mussels, clams and scallops.
