Employees and workers in the private sector, as well as domestic workers, can now file complaints via the ‘Unified Platform for Complaints & Whistleblowers’ of the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs.
The unified platform also allows citizens and residents to file whistleblower complaints on general violations of the labour law. The platform can be accessed here. The Ministry said on its website:
It is an electronic platform through which citizens, expatriates and establishments can file a complaint against entities subject to the provisions of Qatar Labour Law No. 14 of 2004 and the Domestic Workers Law promulgated by Law No. 15 of 2017 or the entities that the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs regulates their business.
In the first version of the platform, the user will be able to apply for:
– Firm labour complaint (Qatari / non-Qatari) against establishments
– Domestic workers complaint against employers
– File a report of a violation.
The user can report any explicit violation of the Labour Law, such as gathering of workers, inappropriate accommodation for workers, explicit violations at the worksite among others. The complaint can be filed without revealing the identity of the reporter / user.
