Hamad General Hospital (HGH) is undertaking essential maintenance work in some areas of its facilities on Friday 30 January and Saturday 31 January 2015.

HGH engineering teams will be performing essential maintenance work on the hospital’s facilities. According to HGH, the maintenance is ‘so we can continue to provide the safest, most effective and most compassionate care to our patients…all measures have been taken to ensure minimal disruption to our patients.’

HGH, which is part of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), has a modern, 603-bed facility that offers trauma, emergency medicine, pediatrics, critical care, specialized surgery, specialized medicine, laboratory medicine and radiology services. The facility is in the process of massive expansion to improve its patient care services. One notable improvement is the complete renovation of the Emergency Department, including the establishment of a new Walk-In Clinic. The ‘see and treat’ model of care for less critical patients has dramatically reduced patient waiting times and enhanced the patient experience.

HMC has been the principal public healthcare provider in the state of Qatar for over three decades. HMC manages eight hospitals, incorporating five specialist hospitals and three community hospitals. HMC also manages the National Ambulance Service as well as home and residential care, all accredited by Joint Commission International. While HMC continues to upgrade its facilities and services, it has also embarked on an ambitious expansion program, targeting the areas of need in our community.
