If it’s presence you’re after Kona has that in abundance. Hyundai say they have designed the all-new Kona to be distinctive, individual and to bring some fun into a part of your life where you have not thought about it before. You will have no trouble finding your new ride in a packed carpark as Kona is so recognisable. At each end there are separate light clusters, the slimline headlights up high, the rest of the lights lower at the front end.
The Kona is clearly designed to differentiate it from the pack, with its wings dominated by black surrounds and the front end’s three rows of lights; the top lights are the daytime running lights; beneath it are the headlights, and at the bottom are the fog lamps. Also notable is the dramatic new front grille.
Another detail is the C pillar which gives the Kona silhouette a nice little added touch. Arrangement of the rear lights is interesting too and lower down black wings surround the rear lamps, just as they do in the front.
The Hyundai Kona is available in a number of striking colour schemes, a couple of them really gorgeous, and though the ‘Acid Yellow’ may divide opinion it certainly stands out on the road!
Once inside the Kona, the first thing you notice is the very user-friendly dashboard, the prominent feature of which is the 7-inch central screen. The designers have also included buttons on either side of it, making everything easier to use.
The Kona’s steering wheel is pleasant to hold, a sign that the manufacturer is paying attention to the driving experience. The centre console groups together the gear lever, the commands for the heated seats and drive modes, even wireless charging for smartphones equipped with this technology. There are also two traditional charging ports, an auxiliary input and a USB port. The Hyundai Kona certainly knows the connectivity requirements of our younger generation!
The Kona is so easy to drive: you’ll enjoy the higher driving position and it’s light to the touch, whether in traffic around town or on more open roads. And use drive modes ECO, NORMAL and SPORT to increase your fun or save your riyals!
