To announce the launch of its new FW14 Gymwear Collection, Oysho organised a ‘Yoga Day’ for its media and blog partners to a yoga wellness treat on 10 November 2014 at the Six Senses Spa at Sharq Village & Spa.
Yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual practice or discipline, that aims to transform the body and mind. The term denotes a variety of schools, practices and goals in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism.
Marhaba was invited to the Oysho’s ‘Yoga Day’ on the morning of 10 November 2014 which started off with a one-hour outdoor yoga session by the beach. Before the yoga session kicked off, the Oysho team distributed comfortable and loose blue Oysho shirts to the yoga participants. In addition, each participant was provided with a yoga mat, towel and water. For many of the participants, this was their first attempt at yoga therefore the yoga session was for beginners. The professional yoga instructor at Six Senses Spa would instruct while the participants followed in his command. The session consisted of neck rolls, leg lifts, should stand, bridge, forward bends, spinal twist and sun salutation as well as demonstrating poses like the fish, mountain, tree, cobra, child, downward dog, pigeon, triangle and more. Marhaba’s favourite was the final relaxation where we sat flat on our backs without movement for 10 minutes or more, listening to only our surroundings and concentrating on our senses – smell, hearing and touch.
The yoga session was followed by a healthy brunch featuring a variety of delicacies including tuna and chicken sandwiches, fruits and cakes along with a selection of fruit juices and tea. While brunching, the participants browsed through Oysho’s latest fall-winter gymwear collection.
