As part of its continued social responsibility initiatives, Qatar’s iconic hotel Marriott Marquis City Center Doha hosted “Support The Fight Virtual Seminar” event in partnership with Qatar Cancer Society to raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The monthly health campaign aims at constructing awareness, contributing to the funds for Qatar Cancer Society, and enforcing the importance of early detection.

Hosted virtually, the event was held in the presence of Qatar Cancer Society representatives, a breast cancer survivor, media, and virtual attendees. The occasion commenced with an informative Breast Cancer speech by Qatar Cancer Society. The panel highlight was for women to learn more about their risk of breast cancer as well as ways to prevent, screen and treat this disease. The breast cancer survivor guest shared their journey – one filled with faith, hope, determination and gratitude for the support received from Qatar Cancer Society.

To mark this special occasion, the hotel is not only offering “Pink Items” at Quick Bites, and “Pink Afternoon Tea” at West End Café & Patisserie throughout October, but it has committed to donating 10% of the proceeds from the sale of “Pink Concept” for Qatar Cancer Society.

Rick Enders, Multi Property General Manager at Marriott Marquis City Center Doha Hotel, said:

We are proud and humbled to partner with Qatar Cancer Society for the fifth consecutive year to bring attention to Breast Cancer Awareness. With this collaboration, our goal is to increase awareness, contribute to the funds for research, and honour those who have fought against breast cancer.’

Pink Afternoon Tea in West End Cafe, priced at QAR95 per person, will be served daily from 12 pm to 5 pm until the end of 31 October, complete with the finest selection of teas, coffees, savory finger sandwiches, homemade scones with clotted cream and jam, seasonal cakes, and pastries.
