Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl – Doha reached a significant milestone when they were presented with a certification of appreciation by Qatar Green Building Council (QGBC).

QGBC, the non-profit organisation leading the initiatives for sustainable practices in Qatar, recognised the property as a pioneer for ultra-luxury hotels in Doha with an effective sustainability programme and environmentally conscious operations.

The acknowledgement demonstrates the commitment undertaken to reduce the effect that the property has on the environment and to meet the requirements of the EarthCheck Company Standard, for which Marsa Malaz Kempinski was awarded the coveted Silver Certification in December 2020.

The hotel is committed to being the number one eco-conscious ultra-luxury resort in Doha and has consistently provided a healthy and safe space along with the best hospitality and guest experience. To maintain an environmentally-friendly approach and to measure the continuous improvement of hotel operations, annual benchmarking assessments are put in place with a clear vision focused on four key aspects: Energy Consumption, Fresh Water Consumption, Waste Reduction and most importantly, Community Commitment.

The hotel team participated in the recent Qatar Sustainability Week 2021, joined a host of guest and staff initiatives, alongside the annual Earth Hour, Earth Day and other charity and welfare events that underline their commitment to local community initiatives that support the green cause.
