To raise awareness of environmentally friendly practices, the Marsa Malaz Kempinski team organised a Beach Clean-up Drive on Saturday, 8 October 2022, in celebration of the Qatar Sustainability Week. The drive was attended by 35 volunteers from the hotel’s Welfare Committee Team as well as guests, who were able to remove around 80 kg of litters.

Karim Tayach, Kempinski Area General Manager – GCC, excluding UAE, said:

We at Marsa Malaz Kempinski are proud to organise and take part of the beach clean-up drive as part of our continuous efforts to sustain the environment and to do our part to contribute towards the environment and the sustainability in Qatar. It is also an opportunity to create and strengthen the awareness among our colleagues, guests, families and visitors, on our social and environmental responsibility. This initiative in particular aimed to support the importance of beaches in Qatar’s ecological sustenance and in highlighting marine’s life, while inspiring community effort towards keeping public places free of waste and pollutants.

Marsa Malaz Kempinski is committed to continue its diversified welfare practices, amongst the many planned initiatives, which includes more beach cleaning campaigns as well as tree planting, conservation techniques, and recycling activities. These vital efforts aim to strengthen the awareness and bond between its team members and the community, and to achieve its environmental sustainability goals.
