If you follow the local photography scene, then you are probably familiar with the name Ameer Abdul Razak, a 27-year-old Indian photographer based in Qatar.

With his popular Facebook page, Ameer Abdul Razak Photography, Abdul Razak has gained over 3,000 likes. He has over 2,400 followers on Instagram and over 5,500 on Flickr. Abdul Razak has recently won Commercial Bank Qatar Facebook Contest, Qatar Tourism Guide Instagram Contest, and most recently, the Amiri Guard Photographic Award 2015. His photography has been published in Qatar Airways’ Oryx Magazine in June and October 2014, QAPCO’s 40 years Anniversary Special Edition Book, Qatar Construction News 2014 October edition, and Gulf Times’ Society magazine.

Abdul Razak is the official photographer of the Salaam tourism magazine of Retaj Marketing & Project Management. He is also the IT tech support as he holds a Master’s Degree in Information Systems.

Like many photographers in Qatar, Abdul Razak became a photographer due to talent and self-taught photography skills. He explains:

I am learning from my own experiments. Using Google & YouTube for reference. I read a lot about photography, getting information and suggestions from experienced photographers.’

The passionate photographer finds inspiration in ‘the beauty of the world’. He said:

I believe every single visual we observe has its own beauty…I describe myself as a photographer who wishes to create frames in my own way. I am trying to explore the beauty in every visuals which comes across me. I love to shoot nightscapes, landscapes and interiors. Sunsets and sunrise are my favourite topics. For me, every sunsets or sunrise adds beauty to my frames. I prefer to shoot in night than on day time.’
