British rider Benjamin Menzies clinched the MX1 win in the third round of the Losail MX Championship winning the two moto ahead of the Kuwaiti rider Mohammed Jaffar with a perfect riding and no mistake. In the MX1 category, the first place was for Benjamin Menzies, Mohammed Jaffar came second and Sultan Al Balooshi was third.
In the first race, I got a reasonable start and I chased to be in the lead of the race and go ahead with Ryan Blair for the front. From there, we pull a bit of the gap away from Jaffar and Mishary and after that , once you pull the gap, just try to relax and try to keep constant throughout the race. The second race was much better. I got a better start and even I didn’t took the hole shoot I was first into the first corner, and that is a big advantage when you are ahead of anybody else and from there on I just started to pull the gap, pull the head and then kind of play until the end. It is a difficult track so you have to think a lot of and it is a very technical track, which is nice and I am very happy with this win and now leading the championship.’
Jaffar had an electrical problem with his KTM bike and he had to ride with one of his friends, so this made him to feel less comfortable in the track and fight for the win ‘I was coming comfortable for this race but I had some electrical problems with my bike and I had to race with my friend’s bike, another brand and I am not used to ride it but, no excuses, Ben was on the first place and he was fast. I tried my best even If I was not riding my bike and I will try to push harder in the coming round to reduce the gap in the standings. Thanks to QMMF for the hospitality and to my sponsors Red Bull, Sand Garde, Adidas, MX Academy and Drag 965.’ Jaffar said after the races.
Menzies is leading now the standings with 97 points and Jaffar is second with 91 and Balooshi is third with 78 points.
Ryan Blair got the victory in the MX2 category also winning the two moto and he is leading now the standings with 150 points as he has won all the races. The Kuwaiti riders Meshary Abou Shaibah and Barak Al Jasmi came in second and third place respectively in the MX2. For Meshary, today he rode very good at the Losail track and hopes to be better in the coming rounds and try to beat Ryan ’Today the track was really good, many thanks to QMMF for today as the maintenance people made a great job. The first moto was much better than the second one but I am happy with the second place in the podium and I hope to be better in the next round’ said Meshary after the podium. Abou Shaibah is second in the standings with 132 points and Moath Al Ansari is third with 118 points.
