Yesterday, the press gathered at the Nasser Bin Khaled showroom to see the unveiling of the Third Generation Mercedes-Benz M Class. It was a short affair, after a few minutes of sipping fruit juice and wondering what could possibly be under the dark sheet in front of us, the NBK Automobiles General Manager, Khaled Shaa’ban gave the order for the sheet to be whipped off like a magician and we all looked at the monster of a car in front of us.
Then, like the nosey journalists we are, everyone scurried to the car and started opening doors and peering through windows, muttering, ‘Ooh, very nice, sun roof,’ and ‘Very roomy!’
Here are some facts:
- The new model range consumer 25% less fuel than previous models
- The Audio 20 CD system, with a twin-tuner radio, a 14.7 cm screen colour display, a MP3/WMA/AAC compatible CV player, a USB interface with CD Cover Art display, an AUX-IN socket in the centre armrest and telephone keypad is standard
- The Bluetooth interface allows hands-free phone calls
- One of the features on offer is the Becker MAP PILOT, a navigation module
