Mercedes-Benz Unveil CLA 45 AMG and Concept S-Coupe at Qatar Motor Show 2014
The kickoff of the Qatar International Motor Show 2014 marked the Qatar and Middle East debut of the new CLA 45 AMG at the pavilion of Nasser Bin Khaled Automobiles (NBK Automobiles) where, in the presence of Sheikh Nawaf bin Nasser bin Khaled Al Thani, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nasser Bin Khaled, senior officials of the company and members of the press gathered to celebrate the launch of AMG’s latest four-door coupé.
General Manager of NBK Automobiles, Khaled Shaaban, said:

The performance-oriented AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive allows driving dynamics at the highest level.’
The new four-door coupé offers a combination of a sporty driving experience, great design and individuality. With the turbocharged engine, all-wheel drive and the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission – the CLA 45 AMG features a drive system that delivers highly dynamic and efficient performance.

The performance coupé accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and its top speed is 250 km/h (electronically limited). But the AMG 2.0-litre turbo engine is impressive not only in terms of its dynamic performance but also with regard to its efficiency and environmental compatibility. The CLA 45 AMG achieves a fuel consumption level of 6.9 litres per 100 kilometres according to NEDC combined figures.

NBK Automobiles unveiled the greatly anticipated Concept S-class Coupe at the opening day of Qatar International Motor Show 2014 in the presence of Sheikh Nawaf bin Nasser bin Khaled Al Thani, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nasser Bin Khaled, senior officials of the company and members of the press.
The new Concept S-Class Coupé is the embodiment of the Mercedes-Benz design philosophy. The exterior is characterised by typical rear-wheel drive proportions, which are emphasised by the Mercedes characteristic dropping line. The long bonnet, the cowering greenhouse, the wheel arches and the 21-inch wheels (tyres at front 265/35 R 21, at rear 295/35 R 21) and make the S-Class Coupé a masterpiece of automotive refinement. With a wheelbase of 2945 mm the coupé measures 5050 mm in length, 1958 mm in width and 1409 mm in height.
The Concept S-Class Coupé is powered by a V8 Biturbo engine, producing 335 kW (455 hp) from a displacement of 4663 cc. The peak torque is 700 Nm. The S-Class Coupé is equipped with the “Intelligent Drive” technology from Mercedes-Benz. With two ‘camera eyes’, the vehicle provides a 3D view of the area up to about 50 metres in its front, while “6DVision” can detect the position and movement of objects. It monitors the surroundings ahead of the vehicle over a range of up to 500 metres. These data are combined with the data from the radar and ultrasound sensors. A multitude of assistance systems monitors the surrounding traffic for the driver. The suspension also has a new stereo camera, which can detect surface undulations in advance activating MAGIC BODY CONTROL to adjust the suspension for the situation.
Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts and fans of the brand will able to see this exclusive model for the first time in Qatar at the NBK Automobiles pavilion of the exhibition.
