The first meteor showers of 2018 will be seen over the northeast horizon of Qatar skies from tomorrow (3 January) evening until the dawn of 4 January, Qatar Calendar House (QCH) has announced.

Termed as Quadrantids Meteor Showers by astronomers, it is usually active every year from last week of December until second week of January, while its peak will be from evening of 3 January until dawn of 4 January every year.

The meteor shower doesn’t require astronomical telescopes, it can be viewed with naked eye from countries in the Middle Eastern region. It is recommended to view the shower from dark places without light and environment pollution.

Tip: Qatar residents can capture the shower using digital cameras, just increase the exposure time for a better quality image.
