20140219_091948In the presence of Director General of Public Security (DGPS) HE Staff Major General Saad bin Jassim Al Khulaifi, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) celebrated Arab Police Day on Wednesday 19 February 2014 in the memories of first of conference of Arab Police and Security Chiefs held at Al-Ain in UAE in 1972.

The celebrations held at Civil Defence Club auditorium was attended by directors of MOI departments, veteran staff at reserve force, veteran honourees from Police force, toppers from police institutes and colleges, honorees from civil community and government authorities in addition to a number of police cadets.

Al Khulaifi said:

I am pleased to extend to you all on the occasion of Arab Police Day celebrations best wishes and congratulations, praying to God Almighty for safety, security, stability and prosperity of the out dear nation under the wise leadership of HH the Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. I am also pleased to convey to you the greetings and best wishes of HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser Al Thani, the Prime Minister and the Minister of the Interior for continued progress and success to build a stable, prosperous community that strives in the process of development in accordance with the Qatar National Vision 2030.

‘The Interior Ministry has made outstanding achievements  in the framework of the ministry’s Strategy and five-year plan with the opening of a number of department buildings, which takes into account a design that preserve the heritage of the country and provide a variety of services distributed in all areas and security departments while equipped with the latest technical resources and trained and qualified human capacity, according to the latest global security standards  so that it can carry out its security tasks and services efficiently and effectively.’

‘I do emphasise on this occasion, our commitment to fully exert more efforts for the most comprehensive security services, in coordination with all concerned bodies to provide security, and all the authorities and institutions of the state, in addition to civil society organisations as a confirmation of collective responsibility, and the concept of community policing in the maintenance of security and safety so that we can actively get involved in the creation of all the right conditions for sustainable development towards progress and prosperity.’

The Police Chief thanked all the state authorities, institutions and bodies as well as national companies, civil and police employees of the Ministry of Interior extending it further to all citizens and residents of the country urging them all to cooperated and communicate with security agencies of the country to accomplish more success in serving this beloved nation.

Brigadier Nasser Al Kaabi, on behalf of the honourees on this day, thanked the HE the Minister of Interior and Director General of Public Security for this honoring that include police forces, state authorities and institutions and toppers form police institutes and colleges.

Arab Police DayAt the end of the ceremony, HE the DGPS honoured veterans from police force, reserved force, individual and institutions that supported the police and toppers form Arab and foreign police institutes and colleges – including Retired (Rtd) Brigadier Ahmed Mohammed Al Hatmi, Rtd. Brigadier Nasser Rashed Al Kaabi, Rtd. Major Ali Jafar Al Mohammed, Rtd 1st Lieutenant Yousuf Mohammed Badr and  Rtd 1st Lieutenant Ali Hassan Al Hail (All from Reserve Force), Brigadier Abdullah Hameed Al Suwaid (Assistant director of Public Guards Department), Captain Hamd Lehdan Saqr Al Mohannadi (Head of Police Canine Section at Criminal Evidences and Information Department), Captain Hassan Eissa Al Muhannadi from General Directorate of Border Passports and Expatriate Affairs (GDBPEA), Captain Eissa Abdullah Al Haddad from GDBPEA, and Captain Hamad Ibrahim Al Sheeb from Police Training Institute.

Executive Director of Qatar Foundation for Social Protection and Rehabilitation Dr Yousuf Abdul Rahman Al Mulla thanked the ministry for honouring the Foundation. Cashier of Al-Khor Sports Club Saad Al-Muhannadi, Director of Zakat Fund at Awqaf Jassim Mohammed Al Kubaisi, Hamad Ibrahim from Qatar Petrol, Mesaieed Industrial City also thanked the Ministry for honoring their institutions and hoped for more cooperation in the future.

Toppers from different institute include Capt. Bana Ali Al Khulaifi, (Masters with distinction in Business Management, Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Marine Transportation, Egypt), civil employee Noufa Saleh Suwaidan Al-Ghaithani Al Marri (Masters in IT), Lieutenant Jaber Ali Jaber Mohammed Suroor (Bachelors in Police Science for Saad Al Abdullah Academy, Kuwait), Lieutenant Eid Saleh Eid Al Muhaizi (License in Law, Police Science from Dubai Police Academy, UAE) and Lt. Khalifa Khalifa Mohammed Al Kubaisi (License in Law, Police Science from Dubai Police Academy, UAE).
