The Leaders Development Center (LDC) under the office of HE the Minister of Interior (MoI) held a ceremony on the occasion of receiving the international accreditation certificate in the field of leadership and management by the British Institute of Leadership and Management (ilm).

The Center honoured eight officers from the Ministry of Interior who completed the assessment process of the young leaderships in the Ministry of Interior.

British ambassador to Qatar, HE Nicholas Hopton; Director of Human Resources Department of the Ministry, Brigadier Hussain Hassan Al Jaber; Director of the technical office of HE the Minister of Interior Brigadier, Bader Al Ghanim; Director of Strategic Planning Department, Colonel Abdul Rahman Majid Al Sulaiti and a number of officers from the Ministry of Interior attended the ceremony.

Delivering the welcome speech, Brigadier Al Ghanim thanked the concerned departments and all officers who contributed for the success of the LDC during the past years and appreciated the officers who assessed the young leadership of the Ministry of Interior. He said:

The LDC was keen to take all necessary measures to lend credibility and quality in all of its procedures, in order to comply with the standards followed by the international institutions and specialised agencies. In this context, we coordinated with British Institute of Leadership and Management, one of the prominent international agency that grants accreditation in the field of leadership and management. This was done for ensuring that the procedures taken by the LDC are according to the international standards and also to implement all necessary measures to meet the requirements for accreditation standards which include the visit of the team from the British Institute to the Center for the review of the works of the Center and the executed programs and also to verify all necessary documents for the completion of the accreditation standards and nomination forms for leadership programs, quality assurance programmes and content and goals of the programmes.’

Brigadier Al Ghanim also noted that, in light of the review of all those models, and work procedures, the British Institute of Leadership and Management approved to grant the LDC the international accreditation certificate, which recognise the LDC in Qatar as one of the accredited international center in the field of preparation and development of leaders and accreditation of the development programmes and workshops carried out by the Center. In addition to this, the accreditation qualifies the assessing officers from the Ministry of Interior for the international license as future leadership assessment officers.

HE Hopton stressed on the importance of the historical relationship and cooperation existing between Qatar and UK in various fields, including training and he praised the efforts taken by the Ministry of Interior. Holding of the ceremony on the occasion of the accreditation refers to the deepness of the relationship between two countries and the desire of all parties in developing it. The bagging of the LDC in the Ministry of Interior the international accreditation certificate is a big achievement and this emphasises the continuous attempts to find out the young leadership and to qualify them for carrying out the leadership roles in maintaining security and spreading it, added the British ambassador to Qatar. On his behalf and behalf of the British government, the envoy extended thanks and appreciation to the Ministry of Interior on this occasion and wished more cooperation in the future.
