Mowasalat transported more than 10,000 spectators and 6,000 students during the final game of the Amir Cup, held at the new Al Wakrah Stadium, utilising for the first time their eco-friendly electrical buses, and achieving a loading and off-loading time record of one minute (average), while transferring people to and from the stadium.
Mowasalat deployed 115 buses for spectators as well as wheelchair accessible buses to transport physically-challenged fans to and from the stadium, in collaboration with Qatar Rail. They served as Metro Link feeder buses in the operation.
For the first time, Mowasalat has also utilised a number of eco-friendly electrical buses following an initiative to sustain environmental protection as stated in Qatar National Vision 2030.
According to Mowasalat CEO Fahad Saad Al Qahtani, the fruitful collaboration between Qatar Football Association, Supreme Committee of Delivery and Legacy and Qatar Rail contributed significantly to the success of the event.
We would like to congratulate HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, on the inauguration of the Al Wakrah Stadium, the sports architectural masterpiece that will surely attract the world’s attention in the upcoming FIFA 2022.’
He said that Mowasalat has exerted all efforts to meet spectator requirements during this initial event, in addition to a flat 25% discount to spectators who booked a trip via the Karwa Taxi App.
Al Qahtani also expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to all employees of Mowasalat for their outstanding efforts during the event and reaffirmed their commitment to provide only the best services to customers.
