Mowasalat (Karwa) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with bus manufacturer Yutong, for joint research and development of electric vehicles (EV) for logistics.

The MOU was signed by Mowasalat (Karwa) CEO Fahad Saad Al Qahtani and Yutong Middle East CEO Shen Hui.

The agreement outlined several areas of cooperation between the two companies, including the joint promotion and development of electric commercial vehicles in Qatar, joint electrification projects and joint research on safe driving and operation efficiency for electric vehicles. The MOU also affirms the agenda of Mowasalat (Karwa) for a healthier environment.

According to CEO Fahad Al Qahtani, they are a key player in the transportation industry in Qatar and as such, are aware of their ecological responsibility to the country.

We are pleased to enter into this MOU with Yutong as this cooperation will help us achieve our goal of promoting the use of clean energy and reducing carbon emissions.

Al Qahtani said they look forward to working closely with Yutong on the joint research and development of electric vehicles for logistics, as well as other initiatives related to new energy.

Yutong Middle East CEO Shen Hui said they too, are committed to creating a sustainable future for all. He said that this collaboration represents a significant milestone for Yutong, and they look forward to working with Mowasalat to contribute to a greener and cleaner environment for Qatar.

Promoting clean energy in Qatar

Mowasalat (Karwa) has always been committed to reducing carbon emissions and to promoting the use of clean energy in Qatar. During the Qatar2022 tournament, the company introduced the use of E-Buses and E-Limousines for shared public transportation, with tremendous success.

By promoting E-vehicles for commercial purposes and conducting joint research on battery recycling, the company continues to contribute to the development of e-mobility and creating a greener environment for future generations.
