Museum of Islamic Art Workshops in January

The tailor-made carpetworkshops and lectures at the MIA are meant for the entire family including children and teenagers between the ages of three to 18 years. The courses run from January to March and are offered in the Education Centre as well as a weekly drop-in workshop in the foyer on the main ground level of the museum. A selection of courses is listed below.

For Adults

The Silk Road – Participants will use the museum’s galleries and look at the wide range of Islamic design to inspire their creation of a silk painting.

Course on 7, 14, 21, 28 January

Eye of the Beholder – This course is designed to develop drawing skills while getting inspiration from the most valuable items in the collection.

Adult course 9, 16, 23 ,30 January

Teenagers (13 – 18 years) course on 10, 17, 24, 31 January

Legend of the Mask – Inspired by the MIA’s 15th century war mask, this two part workshop covers mask making and the art of symmetry and pattern.
