The Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) has now launched its revamped website where the public are able to access information on the disease, and cancer sufferers in Qatar can find support. QCS operates solely through donations from supporters and was founded in 1997 under the patronage of HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani and is chaired by HE Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Jabor Al Thani.
This humanitarian organisation is dedicated to the prevention and treatment of cancer and focuses on the implementation of awareness and prevention programmes aimed at informing the public and healthcare professionals on the disease itself.
If you have been diagnosed with cancer and have all of your recent documents (dated within the last month) from your doctor, you may be eligible for financial assistance from the Qatar Cancer Society. Full details are on the website.
Also, there is a very useful ‘Tools and Calculator ‘ section where visitors can check BMI, calorie requirements, heart rate and check the cost of their smoking plus information about care in the sun and other health matters.
Volunteers are always welcome so please send your name and contact details, including phone number to firstname.lastname@example.org and a representative will be in touch with you soon.
Recently, the society has undergone rebranding in order to make a statement in its commitment and strengthening its resolve through its vision and strategy in the fight against cancer. Numerous local, as well as multinational, organisations have demonstrated their commitment to the cause by partnering with the Society and offering their support through different pledges.
