Ninety-Two New Factories to Participate in the Upcoming ‘Made in Qatar’ Expo
Preparations for the 9th edition of the ‘Made in Qatar’ exhibition are now in full swing with more than 450 Qatari companies and factories from six industrial sectors expected to participate. About 355 industrial companies have already registered to participate, including 92 new factories that are joining for the first time.
Held under the patronage of The Amir, HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the exhibition is being organised by the Qatar Chamber in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI).
In a statement, Qatar Chamber Chairman HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, who also chairs the exhibition’s supreme committee, said that preparations are in progress. He said that the expo aims to encourage more local industries in Qatar, promote national products and foster cooperation between Qatari employers and local companies, as well as streamline discussions on partnerships and alliances to enhance the state’s industrial sector and reduce dependence on imports.
Sheikh Khalifa emphasised that this year’s edition will focus on attracting domestic and foreign investments, with the expo’s accompanying activities providing an opportunity for businesses and foreign investors to gain insights into Qatar’s industrial sector and investment opportunities.
He added that the exhibition will also provide an opportunity for bilateral meetings between Qatari investors and their foreign counterparts to close deals and forge alliances and partnerships.
Made in Qatar will be held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center from 29 November to 2 December. The expo will occupy a total area of 30,000 sqm. All companies and factories operating in the state are welcome to participate.
