Qatar Minister of Commerce and Industry, HE Ali Bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, officiated the opening of the 5th Edition of Hospitality Qatar this week at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre, in the presence of HE Akbar Al Baker, Secretary General of Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) and GCEO of Qatar Airways.

The biggest tourism and hospitality event in Qatar, in support of the country’s efforts to accelerate world class projects in the lead up to FIFA World Cup 2022, the event aims to strengthen Qatar’s position as a leading global destination for hospitality, leisure and recreation. The event was organised by IFP Qatar and held in partnership with QNTC for the second consecutive year.

This year’s event features 228 exhibitors and seven international pavilions from 33 countries. Leading innovative events were also held throughout the three-day exhibition, including new zones, a highly targeted B2B programme, certified conference and training sessions, and Salon Culinaire’s lively events and activities.

New Features, Better Attractions 

This year’s edition of Hospitality Qatar has added new features – a dedicated exhibition zone ‘Destination Pavilion’ sponsored by Qatar Airways. The exclusive pavilion showcased the many destination points where the airline flies. The exhibition also showcased a ‘Luxury Tourism’ dedicated area in association with the Luxury Trade and Marketing Group, featuring innovative technologies, services, solutions on luxury tourism and eco-friendly concepts.

Hospitality Qatar’s signature events, including the Salon Culinaire in partnership with Qatar Culinary Professionals (QCP) also enthralled visitors with various new dishes. The Live Cooking Competitions attracted the audience as food connoisseurs watched how gourmet dishes come to life right before them. The Qatar Barista Championship, sponsored by Corona, also teased coffee and tea lovers with enticing aroma of warm beverages presented by the country’s finest baristas.

Hospitality Qatar showcased the various aspects of the hospitality industry in Qatar, such as hotels and facilities, interiors and design, entertainment and leisure, travel and tourism, resorts and outdoor landscape, HORECA technologies and equipment, ecologically-friendly hotel systems and solutions, and food and beverage options.
