The Student Council of the International School of London (ISL) Qatar, in collaboration with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) recently organised a blood donation drive in their school campus as part of the Global Citizenship and Community Action (GCCA) programme.

The day-long drive was very successful and over 50 members of the school community signed up to donate blood for the good cause. The drive was aimed at raising awareness on the significance of blood donation and how it actually saves lives. The initiative also highlighted the sense of social responsibility that the students of ISL Qatar holds towards the community.

HMC was very thankful for the initiative and enthusiasm of the students and staff who contributed.

The Global Citizenship and Community Action progamme at ISL Qatar encourages students to be caring, compassionate, responsible and knowledgeable global citizens, capable of making a better world for all. The GCCA programme offers opportunities to apply concepts, skills and knowledge, as students explore the complex global community, gain personal insights, develop existing and new skills, and grow in confidence and responsibility as they engage in the ‘real world’ beyond school.

ISL Qatar has an outstanding reputation for high academic standards, prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes and an impressive record of admission to the best universities worldwide. For more information about ISL Qatar, visit the school website at islqatar.org.
