The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) announces the closure of part of Khalifa Street from Thursday 11 December at 11 pm to Saturday 13 December 2014 at 11 am, stretching from Al Markhiya Intersection towards Al Gharrafa Intersection.

The 1 km closure is to facilitate the works of laying the final layer of asphalt on the road.

During the two-day closure, drivers heading to Madinat Khalifa North and Landmark Mall from Al Markhiya Intersection can use the street known as Arab League Street to reach Dahl Al Hamam Intersection then make a U-turn and use the local roads in the area. While drivers heading to Madinat Khalifa South can use Jassim bin Hamad Street and the local roads.

Ashghal is responsible for governing the design, construction, delivery and maintenance of all expressway and major roads that cater to current and future traffic demand across Qatar. Ashghal’s focus for the future of Qatar’s roads is to enable greater mobility, shorter travel times and improved safety.
